This commission work was  painted in honor of Mexican Artist, Frida Kahlo. On July 7th 2019 we celebrate Frida Kahlo’s 111th birthday and her feminist legacy of strength. Strength witnessed through her haunting self portraits on which she poured her heart upon. Her naïve folk art style explored questions of identity, postcolonialism, gender, class, and race in Mexican society and continues to challenge boundaries and stereotypes today.
